Newsletter April 2017

sorry
The year seems to have flown by and the Lord has been faithful to us. We are grateful to all our friends who have prayed and supported us over this last year. We feel priviliged to be working together with you and hope you continue to feel part of what the Lord has given us to do here in Tanzania.

The farm continues to prosper, especially as we have been enabled to purchase a new pump and a lot more drip irrigation. On hot days many of the plants wilt in the extreme heat so we will have to invest in quite a lot of shade netting. As it has been so dry, we have been able to grow tomatoes when many others have had no water. This has helped to push us in the direction of being able to break even. The farm is now blessing many people to help keep the wolf from the door. Many come to buy vege so as to be able to sell them and get an income, many come with their few shillings to buy for their daily needs. All who visit and many who were very critical are now amazed –Praise the Lord. We also supply three government primary schools with vegetables, All is the hand of the Lord and Abraham runs it amazingly with faith and dedication. The Lord has sent help from different organisations and people. The farm has now been transferred to the church's name and the church prays for the farm.

sorry
The rains have been very heavy in places with serious flooding and in other parts little or no rain. The forecast is that the rains will finish early so people's crops of maize will be poor. The price of maize (staple diet) is nearly 3 times higher than it was last August. The maize stores we have for the poor and needy probably will be finished by the end of the first week in May. We are investigating where we can obtain maize from another part of the country at a reasonable price.

The church meetings are encouraging especially the prayer meeting, where we see more answers to prayer. There is still a long way to go in the main meetings as many still harbour sin. Steve or Abraham usually preach. The children's meetings on a Thursday vary in number, depending on if we bring excess mangos from our trees, however there is a core group that really loves the Lord. A maasai lady with a real gift with the children called Riziki has started to help which is very encouraging as another teacher, Pendo, is on maternity leave. The bible studies in Simendo and Sanya Station are proving very helpful as people are able to learn, interact with others and grow spiritually in a small group.

With lots of love from

Steve and Anne
