Newsletter April 2018

The last few months have been loaded with problems of different sorts, sicknesses of friends and a general pressure on all we do and stand for. However we are at peace and believe that the Lord is in control of all our circumstances. In proverbs 3 v 5,6,7 we read: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. We are finding out the truth of these words and are encouraged.

The main river is behind this photo and the church plot fence can be seen to the left of the gap in trees in the upper middle of the picture. Just over 2 weeks ago there were terrible floods in Sanya Station, like has never been seen before. They had no rain but the floods in two rivers from rain on Kilimanjaro blocked the main tarmac road to Arusha for two hours. Thankfully the water did not go into the church building but left a lot of mud where we meet. Many houses were flooded out upto 18" deep and many belongings washed away, and some houses knocked down. Since then there was a fierce dust storm which brought down trees, one on the farm and one on the church plot, and there have bee 2 further bouts of flooding. Thankfully there has been no serious flooding on the farm as it is on the other side of the river. Other parts of the country have had good rains and some places serious flooding. We have had a lot of rain at home in the last 3 weeks 453mm (18").

The passion fruit is doing much better now that the very hot days are finished and the insects reduced. A new pump and tank has been installed to improve the irrigation supply to the passion fruit as the regular pressure (gravity fed) has not been sufficient. We see answers to prayer on the farm. The tomatoes got leaf curl and normally you can forget getting a crop when this happens. However when they prayed, the plants resuscitated and we should get a bumper crop.

Thank you for being part of us. We value your continued prayer and we are grateful forall the support and help we have received.

Much love from Steve and Anne.
