sorry
The water on the farm dam has completely dried up and we can see that the termite hill soil did not stop the water from leaking and ended up at the bottom.

This means that we cannot reline the dam with termite hill soil and we will have to line it with 1mm plastic liner, which is very expensive, but we will have to do it otherwise we will not be able to use the dam. We are currently passing through the driest time we have known for a number of years and the forecasts for rain are not good. We must put in the lining in the next few weeks before any rain comes (if it does). Currently we are using the borehole for irrigating and helping to supply water to many thousands of Maasai animals, as water is very scarce. If you remember that the first time the water was measured, it had a figure of 14 for flluoride making it unsuitable for drinking water. However the second time it was measured it had a value of 4, making it suitable for drinking. We see this as a miracle from God (like Exodus 15v25). The pump we have is a small one and we need to put in a bigger one if we are going to go for long periods with no rain (there is plenty of water in the borehole). As electricity is being installed on the farm this week, we also want to put in an electric pump to take the water out of the dam instead of the petrol driven pump floating on the pontoon (as you can see in the picture) as these pumps often break down and are much more costly to run. The dam has also been suppllying drinking water to thousands of birds which is a wonderful spectacle to see.

We have evidence recently of people not wanting the project to succeed and others who have been practising witchcraft and objects being deliberately placed to restrict the water supply. We know that God is our helper in everything and we look to him to supply all our needs. I see that the Lord is using the farm to be something much bigger than what I had originally envisaged, and that he wants to use it to reach the hard hearts of many Maasai men. Many go to church in our area but are totally unchanged and are steeped in animal worship (they love their cows and animals more than they love their wives and children); their girls are effectively sold and bought as slaves and have no rights (they become owned by the husband's family); and they visit witchdoctors, and drunkenness is rife amongst many of the men.

We have an English girl, Amy, staying with us at the moment, who has experienced some deliverance from the Lord and has come out of a very bad background/lifestyle.

Please pray about these things.

1. Reaching the Maasai
2. The lining for the dam
3. A pump for the dam
4. A larger pump for the borehole
5. Amy

This comes with much love and gratefulness for your love and prayers and generosity
With lots of love from

Steve and Anne
